South Arkansas College student-athletes continue to shine in the classroom as well as on the field and court. The NJCAA has released its 2024-2025 All-Academic Team Awards, and SouthArk proudly announces that numerous student-athletes earned national recognition for their academic excellence.

The NJCAA All-Academic Team Awards honor student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement. Student-athletes are recognized on three tiers: First Team for those earning a perfect 4.0 GPA, Second Team for GPAs between 3.80 and 3.99, and Third Team for GPAs between 3.60 and 3.79.

Six SouthArk baseball players earned First Team honors for maintaining a 4.0 GPA:

  • Gavin Murphy

  • Ty Simonelli

  • Noah Smith

  • Ryan Ursery

Nine student-athletes were named to the Second Team (3.80–3.99 GPA), representing both baseball and women’s basketball:

  • Logan Gipson

  • Emma Kate McBride

  • Bryce McGuire

  • Tanner Nguyen

Eight student-athletes earned Third Team recognition (3.60–3.79 GPA):

“These awards reflect the true spirit of what it means to be a student-athlete,” said SouthArk Athletic Director, Jenny Sanders. “I’m incredibly proud of our Stars for the dedication they’ve shown to both their sport and their studies. Their success in the classroom speaks volumes about their character, discipline, and commitment to excellence.”

South Arkansas College continues to promote academic achievement as a core component of its athletic programs, ensuring that student-athletes are equipped for success both during and after their time at SouthArk.
